Review: The Death of Bees

The Death of Bees
The Death of Bees by Lisa O’Donnell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It gets the trauma bookshelf but is far and away one of the best novels for grown-ups I have read in a while. Marnie and Nelly are both rich and engaging characters. Lennie was a little less believable, but I liked him, anyway. This is quite like the world of J.K. Rowling’s Causal Vacancy but told with less derision, more fondness and hope for the characters. A book that lives up to its reviews!
