Here’s an interesting exercise: Read a travel book for your home town! I have been almost every place written about in this book. It’s best features are the size of the book — easy to carry — and the south-to-north, neighborhood-by-neighborhood treatment. The writing had a pretty weird feel, though. It felt old-fashioned and maybe even outdated. I wasn’t surprised to read that it had been published in another country. I read the 2011 edition.
